I took the plunge and ordered the camera. It was the most extraordinary thing. I started out just ordering the camera which finally went below $500. I was thrilled to see such a great price on it but you know they never just let you buy a camera. There has to be a "bundle" that you get another item at a discount too. So I decided the zoom lens was the real reason I wanted the bigger camera so I might as well get it at half price in the bundle. So I put it all in my cart and stared at it for 30 minutes. Then I thought about the fact that even though it takes the same kind of memory card as the camera I have, I didn't want to be using the same one in both, so I figured I'd better order a memory card. They had one that came with one of those little USB readers so I decided, I've gone this far, I might as well toss it all in there. So I did and the next thing I see, the total price has dropped $150. So now for the camera, the lens, a UV protector AND the card and reader its just a tiny bit over $500. I stared some more. Something MUST be wrong about this. Plus the shipping went from $12 to $9.85 .. this can't be right. Finally I got up the courage to press the button.. and when the final figure came to my email it was even less than it showed on the cart. I can't believe that all happened to me. Even though I spent $500, I felt like I'd won the lottery.

So come Friday I will have my new Canon Rebel, a 75-300 mm lens and a card and reader. I am bursting with anticipation. I'll be out in the country shooting barns or something all weekend. Can't wait.
