I am very happy knowing you are there with our loved ones. Make the most of every moment. Enjoy even the stressful moments. I'd give anything right now to be able to share all this face to face with you all. In the same place at the same time.Give Chica my love and she has no idea how proud I am of her. She really is some kind of Lady, perfect gift to our boys and soon our baby grand daughter. Tell Julie she too is one of the neatest woman I know. You are all in my prayers daily and and often.
With Ladies like you all, Andres, Frank and I have "No worries". God bless you all and good night.
Love you, Cesar
So, read this and it brought tears to my eyes. Read it to Adrianna and Julie, and we all cried. It is a blessing to be reminded of the pride Cesar has in us; we honor him and he appreciates each of us.
Full day of not much, a day spent at home with each of us busy and you don’t really remember any one thing you did. Remembered why I like oatmeal so much; it is the brown sugar and walnuts, Adrianna asked if we would like to take the bus to the other base in the afternoon when Diego was done with his nap. I had been thinking of this, too. We all agreed it would be fun. Kept Diego going, or was that the other way around. Worked on a plan for the announcements. Enjoyed Andres being home for lunch again. After he was on his way back to work, Julie got Diego down for a nap. I grabbed a blanket to warm up and the last thing I heard was Adrianna asking Julie, “Do you want to play a game of darts?” Much later I woke up and saw it would be the time for Cesar to call. Diego was still asleep. Adrianna was asleep. Julie woke up as I walked in to check on them. We were still going to try to make the bus over if Diego woke up. Called Cesar to let him know we were all well and missed him. Sure he would have loved seeing his sleeping grandson. Little bit later Diego was up and we tried the bus; just missed it…Next one would not get us to base until Andres was getting off; decided to walk in the area instead.
Found a very nice little guys playground on our way home. “Oh, cool!”, is heard when Diego spots one. 4 young girls came to join us and this made playing even more fun for Diego. He is very good at inviting others to join in his fun, sharing the two steering wheels, asking them to come down the slide next, etc. And there was a toy gun left which was incorporated into his route of climbing and sliding.
Adrianna made delicious baked chicken breasts and Julie made twice baked potatoes for us. Topped off with green beans, we each enjoyed our meal. Just as we got the kitchen cleaned up and Andres thought he could settle into a game, we experienced a first.
Victoria called on the video phone No soon than she started talking and the phone started beeping-they were getting a 2nd call at the same time. It took a couple tries, but we were able to let Dominic know we would call him right back after talking with Victoria. One of the recalls involved Victoria hanging up before Diego and he was shocked at how it felt to have someone else hang up instead of him; wasn’t sure he liked it.
Victoria had her cd of the song she performed for the Fine Arts Competition and performed it and blessed us. I could see she made some improvements to her performance, too. We saw her new haircut, her new dress and the dog (regretfully on the table looking out the window). We heard about nationals Aug 2-10 in Detroit and $1000 needed to be raised to send her. And there was a little about a conflict at work which resulted in her missing a class.
Andres got Diego into his pj’s and ready for Dominic’s call. Saw Dominic’s soft cast for his wrist which was hurt at his game which he won the night before. He had jumped over the 3rd baseman who had dropped the ball. Regretfully, the 3rd baseman started getting up as Dominic was in mid air, kicked him in the head and Dominic put his arm out to break his fall…Both needed x-rays. It may be Dominic’s growth plate; more x-rays at the end of the week to verify. But you would not know by looking at him that Dominic was hurt. He was so glad to be on the phone with Diego (and the family). He got Frank to join him on the call and they got to see Diego tell them about his rocking horse and talk about Elmo but not to hear “Elmo’s World”.
We all headed off to bed soon after. Adrianna had been having some consistent but not strong contractions all evening. Resting seemed a good plan just in case…
