2010 Germany Summer Monday

Flight out Sunday,July 18
Monday, July 19
So, do I need to leave the country to have time to blog? Just don't know...But here is the news today. We are here. Carrie returned to introduce Cesar, Andreina and Victoria to Isabella at her home with Andres, Adrianna and Diego.

We flew out of Tucson the day after Mike and Ashley's wedding. Tuesday Eleon flew into Tucson and we had lunch with him before he headed off to Best Man responsibilities for Mike. They had a few things to pack into the days before the wedding; Eleon and Aubrey had been in London, Paris, Rome and a visit with the family in Stuttgart until last Friday. Waiting to enjoy the video diary they created of their memorible trip. Carrie drove up to Phoenix that evening to pick up Grandmama Dee Dee who came in to help with the reception and enjoy being at wedding with our family. Wednesday was some needed shopping for attire. Thursday was shopping for the reception. Friday was prep day. This involved lots of eclairs, cream puffs, brownies, peanut butter bars, snickerdoodles, chocolate chip cookies, cakes (a Miami Dolphin's groom's cake and an 7 or 8 layer-sorry I can't remember- wedding cake) with fillings and meranges tomorrow. The rehersal dinner was at El Parador, with great memories of our family's rehersal dinners. Saturday was finalizing the reception fare with chocolate dipped strawberries and mousse filled cups, arranging the trays, and setting out the trays for serving. Hours of work for a beautiful result. The wedding blessed us all as we were reminded of the joy marriage brings and the committment needed from both husband and wife. The rehersal held a fine toast from Eleon and great treats enjoyed by all. Then off to Victory Assembly to watch Victoria perform "Beauty from Pain" in American sign. As we sat to eat the pasta dinner served at the performance, we realized we had not eaten since early breakfast. It was all a blessing to us. Home to complete the packing and try to sleep a bit before the 3am wake-up call. Sunday Eleon drove us to the airport after leaving keys and info for Jason who is housesitting for us. Aubrey took a well deserved rest and Grammie packed before her shuttle ride back to Phx to fly home. And we were off-Atlanta to Stuttgart.

Our plane arrived 15 minutes before schedule at 8:45am Monday, July 19. Andres and Diego met us at the airport. Diego's enthusiasm dwindled just a little while waiting for the luggage to come in...But they were very happy to see us. They were not able to bring Adrianna and Isabella with them; they have a large vehicle but it could not take all of us and our luggage, too. We got our Visitor ID at the base, picked up some pretzels and coffee and came to give more hugs and kisses. Isabella was awake and happy to meet us. Adrianna was ready for us and pictures of our arrival were taken. Andres asked, "You have been here 20 minutes. How can you have photos to upload already?"

Adrianna put on abondigas for us for dinner and Diego was played with for quite a while. Slowly we dropped off to naps. Yummy dinner planned, loving family to enjoy, stories to share-great night ahead for us! Thank you Jesus for the blessings you have for us today!

A walk to the Shoppette yielded a few movies which we watched the first of, “The Book of Eli”. Part way through the movie we received a visit from Jasmin and Greg who brought Johnny Walker, their dog, to visit. Diego enjoyed telling him to stay and suggested he go to sleep. But he was also as when it was time for them to go so Greg could eat his nachos covered in sauce with chop sticks. We were able to give them their sign in book for their wedding which we will be attending the day after we return home and drive to L.A.

Off to sleep and a hope to get adjusted and on the schedule for the rest of our stay.
