We are home from Paris and it ended up being 9am before Diego started calling out for us. Yes, 9am. Cesar picked him up and brought him to our bed for a little bit. Then out we went for Woody and Buzz Cereal (aka Rice Krispies with Toy Story 3 art). Made sure he got a glass of milk and a spoon for his cereal. Didn’t think to add fruit…hopefully it was because the apples in the frig didn’t make me think of breakfast cereal. We slowly got everyone ready and out.
First stop for the girls: a walk down for groceries. We are having a couple meals per Cesar’s request; tonight is Hamburger Pie with Corn and tomorrow is Chicken Tacos. Cesar was so kind and asked me if I could make the tacos before presenting the idea to the rest of the family, which they readily accepted. For the boys: off to start cleaning the car; the trash got out last night when we arrived from France but that does not a clean car make. Guys picked up the groceries and we walked back home. Once the groceries were all put away we were off for shopping.
Girls inside the mall while the guys got the exterior of the car clean. Girls found lots of great purchases-lots of sales, too. Adrianna was thankful winter clothes were available already (and on sale) so she could start on her post-pregnancy winter wardrobe. Andreina found the final treasures to complete her shopping. Victoria is set with a couple cute outfits which will fit nicely into her fall (very hot season for us at home) wardrobe. Carrie? Darling necklace and scarf. Added to the purse yesterday in France and we have simple selections completed. There was a little trying on of jackets, but… Took a break in the middle of the shopping for a meal which ranged from bratwurst to fishsticks and pudding. After Andres finished his first purchase he headed to the fish buffet and added a meal including rice and a perfectly crusted fillet. Then we moved upstairs for the dessert portion of our venture. Perfect cups of coffee and a wide selection of cakes. This was not the, “I’ll have one of everything in the case”, but there were 4 cakes and a pastry for all of us to indulge in. I am not sure what the restrained population thought as we passed plates from one to another, some bites taken in mid-air, but it was enjoyed by each of us. Diego tried the , “Right back”, phrase being stopped in mid-flight from his chair. Adrianna pointed out how distressed he must be that the phrase works for everyone but him. We think we may give him the satisfaction of telling one of us, “No, you can not be right back”, tomorrow just for the experience. He has been saying this very often since he heard Cesar said it to Diego at the gas station on our way into France. The guys took Isabella in the stroller; girls took Diego by the hand and we headed off again for a mini-shop. While there was only 1 store was on the list as needed to be seen, we were all distracted and sidetracked into a couple extras. Final selections purchased by the girls, Adrianna headed to the car to help with Isabella and Carrie had a scarf to pick out at the first store we stopped at on our way into the mall.
Dinner included freshly mashed potatoes. Victoria asked what I was doing with the bag of potatoes, shocked I was peeling, chopping and boiling them…Andres and Andreina hit the dart board. Got a quick call in to Grammie before we sat down to eat. We didn’t call last night when we got in (way too late for us) to tell Mom and Dad happy anniversary, so we extended the salutation today. Hope to call tomorrow night when Ayden is over at their house for the morning. There was a featured film this evening, “Paul Blart”, followed by a call to Julie, Nic and Mia. Diego showed off his broom and dustpan which they had sent him. Isabella chose to stop crying and enjoy her call with Grama (she had been laid down for the night, but retrieved when Adrianna called). Andres went through his photo albums for Cesar and Andreina. Victoria would have joined them but ended up asleep with the request to be awakened if Nerts was going to be played. Then off to sleep after this.
