Diego got Tata up and ended up in our room after Tata got him some breakfast. It was time for Cesar’s shower so I got to take over and get him dressed. Cesar wanted to take Diego outside to the soccer field before church to “run crazy” for a bit. This must have gone very well. Diego did well getting into the car and we were off to worship. Their church is just a couple blocks away and truly an international church with several nations represented in the congregation, African, Asian, European and American. Our opening prayer was in German, the message in English. They have an interesting family worship option. The upstairs worship center does not have children attending. The downstairs worship center, almost as large and just a welcoming, is for families with children of all ages. Diego is so happy at his Sunday School that he was upstairs in his room with friends who love him, but Isabella joined us. We saved seats for Zack and Kimberly but they were not able to join us.

The message was on 2Tim 2:20-26 and Ezra with the point of holding to what God leads you to do and not following all the comments of the community around you. When we got started I had hoped it would be more focused on the 2Tim section and standing strong. Maybe I should just reread that on my own. No, not maybe, I certainly should.

Got in the car and it seemed only a couple minutes to the restaurant for lunch. Back to Bella Italia and the designated waiter, pulling up the high chair and knowing before finalizing the order that there would be pommes fritas and apple juice. Completely different order again today. Andres tried his first steak in Germany, Cesar found a pork dish, Adrianna may have enjoyed her 4 cheese pasta before but liked it today, too, and I tried a pizza with anchovies, peppers and olives. Andres wished he had a favorite food which no one else would ever eat like my pizza was; there was no need to even offer it to anyone else at the table. But, it was delicious; saved ½ for dinner. Was surprised it was green olives and they were whole. The waiter checked with me when I ordered the peperoni pizza to verify it was not to be a salami pizza but peppery; sure he had others expecting what we call pepperoni. Andres’ steak was covered with marinated pepper corns which he shared with me for my pizza, too. Cesar’s pork tasted like a parmesan preparation and had a side salad. There was also the brochette and a basket of bread for all, the bread prompting a discussion on why it was different shaped for the first time. Andres also ordered a soup he likes with a broth and a few rigatoni; in the middle of the bowl is a roll with an egg baked in a hole in the center. It looks delicious. No dessert today-

As we walked back to the car, a couple was looking very closely at it. Andres hit the beeper and they backed up a little but moved back towards it and he beeped it again. They started patting their pockets, thinking something they had was causing the car’s alarm to activate. They were surprised when Andres walked right up to them…But they did not stop looking into the windows and laughing as they explained they thought they were causing the noise. They had to take a look inside and ask about the mileage and tell us about an older mother and father and how hard it was for them to get into the coupe past the folded down front seat. Andres is proud of his vehicle and this was one more opportunity for him to find pleasure in it.

Once home again it was time for another Hayden visit. Michelle brought the shoes she told Adrianna about yesterday and Diego loves them, wanting to try them on. But he is distracted by Hayden and takes off for his room and the toys. And as every other child, as soon as Hayden picked up a toy, Diego remembered what a great toy it was and thinks he really needed to play with it. Then we had the broom for them to play with together, numbers on the frig to scatter, puppets to make talk. John was able to take a study break and join us for a bit. It was fun to see the dads and their boys playing together while the moms had time to talk. Then they were off for their enchiladas and we started some pasta [and my left over pizza].

Tried a movie, “Tenderness”, with Russell Crowe which we are pretty sure we will not bother watching again. Diego was happy with the computer, headphones and Spongebob episodes. Even though he didn’t have a nap today he was still not quite ready to lie down in his bed.

Worked a bit on Isabella’s book from April and headed off to sleep. No photos again today…just does not seem right. Maybe I will have a couple from Cesar’s phone if he can email them to me [gotta figure that out].
