As I have continued writing the book I am writing for my kids, I have come to realize that I was a very over protective Mom. I didn't realize how much that was true until the memories started coming back to me. My husband always told me that I was way too overprotective but I didn't believe him then. Now I see how right he was, but I have no regrets. My children turned out to be awesome grown-ups and parents with children of their own. They are just as protective as I was and that makes me feel so good.

Such a small thing - being protective - but it comes naturally to a Mother I think. I don't think we ever had a baby sitter - never. We took ours with us everywhere we went. We were young and all of our friends had young children too, so most of our nights out were with friends at one another's home where we shared conversation and our children played together.

These little memories now seem like they are what made my life so big - the little moments that make life big.
