In this layout I used a photo of the Canadian Flag which I altered using a filter so that it appears to be a watercolour painting. I took a sample from the flag photo and created a 12 x 12 inch plain red paper. I made a texture using the maple leaf shape in photoshop and used the texturize filter to apply it to the red paper creating a red paper covered with maple leaves. I grabbed one part of Melissa Renfro's SS_EmbTemplates_Straight and covered it with the texturized red maple leaf paper that I had created.
That done, I found 4 photos that represent what Canada means to me. I resized the photos, tilted, and inserted them under the now texturized template piece. The I found a good map of Canada and after resizing and adjusting it, I inserted it in the topmost spot under the template piece.
The words are the first few words of our national anthem. I used the font "Britannic Bold" for the lyrics and ChrisHmkBold (as always) for my signiture. I've made a brush of my sig, by the way so I don't have to keep switching fonts.
The pictures are: Map of Canada; photo of Nova Scotia; Le Château Frontenac, Quebec; CN Tower, Toronto, Ontario; Parlaiment Buildings, Parliament Hill, Ottawa. These photos are, to me, very representative of my Canada.
I love my country and I hope this layout lets everyone see some of why I love it. I am a patriot!
