My daddy sent me a whole bunch of photos from my childhood - I guess he's cleaning out. There are so many that are damaged and faded with age. Ugh, some are nearly 40 years old (am I that old?). I scanned this photo of myself and my brother. It's a bad photo to begin with - badly composed with the subjects so far away. But there's something about it. After trying to repair the damage and fix the color (there's a pink area down the middle), I still wasn't satisfied. However this happy accident occurred - a perfect mix of photo, background paper, and blend mode created this. This happened when I changed the blend mode to hard light! I used Cloudscape Paper Mini and I did a bit of erasing of the photo with Brush Set: Time Traveler - Clouds Biggie to blend.

Isn't it fun to play with all those blend modes. They sure do come up with some awesome surprises sometimes and this looks like it was one of them. This definitely doesn't look like a bad photo now Eli, it looks great!

This is so magical. I love the colors and your photo treatment is just awesome. Hard light is such a great effect sometimes, it really set this image off. The blending is beautiful, you have created a precious treasure here. :D

I would NEVER in a million years have known you started with a damaged photo...brilliant work, brilliant (educated) accident (kinda like an educated guess, lol), super page!

Ah, serendipity! The photo does have something intriguing about it that draws you in. Your layout looks awesome. I love the blending of the clouds. The names of the kids is a cute touch & the cluster is lovely & perfect for a beach photo.

Wow are you talented with a little bit of luck thrown in. Love the look of the sky. It's an awesome layout from a so called bad photo. Karen

Absolutely gorgeous layout! I love the blended photo and brushwork. Perfect little embellishment and title, too. You've taken a lemon and made the perfect lemonade! Kudos! :-)
