Hi. I’m still new to this and I’m looking for some help on this LO. I used a scarp girls template (SG_Refresh_MRE_LOTemplate). The red paper I made myself using the paint bucket and a texture. I didn’t put a drop showdown on this because I wanted to look like it is all one piece of paper. I tried to put a drop shadow on the text (Viner Hand ITC, 24 pt), but now matter how big I make it, I can’t see it. So I tried playing around with other things. I ended up putting an outer glow on of my texts. But I don’t like it. I used an inner shadow on my template to make my pictures look like they have some depth to them. But I don’t like the way that look either. Am I having trouble with drop shadows because the background is black? If so what do you do when you use a black background? Or is it because it’s still part of the template? Do I need to put a black paper there? Or am I way off? Constructive criticism is always welcome on any of my LOs. Thanks for the help.

lol miss perfectionist. i like your layout :breakdance: im no expert on drop shadows and inner glows lol but someitimes if my text wont show on dark background i mount it or even duplicate the layer of text several times. this is probably not the answer ur looking for but hey its what i do lol.

another way is to put pics underneath paper and make the drop shadow on paper high so that it makes pics look framed. good job anyway tho. keep smiling and scrapping lol sorry i couldnt be of much help :disappearing-smilie:

you're on the right track, you can't see the drop shadows because of the black background. Try a bevel and emboss effect- it's on the drop shadow menu if you are using PSCS, I'm not sure where it is on PSE.

BTW, I think your layout looks great. Awesome first try!
