The Pink Palace

I do realize that this is busy- LOL! I just love the papers and wanted a hot, tropical feel to the layout, for fun.

Journaling:

When we visited Hawaii in October 2009, we spent some time walking around the grounds of the historic Royal Hawaiian Hotel, where I took this photo of Ed with the Diamond Head Volcano in the background. This Spanish- Moorish style structure, known as The Pink Palace, was built in 1927. During WW II the US Navy leased it as an R&R Center for the Pacific Fleet, of which my father was a member. We enjoyed strolling along the beautiful beach here in Waikiki, watching the surfers and boats. We saw a gorgeous Hawaiian sunset and took lots of pictures.

I have to disagree with Brandy -it sure seems busy to me! But it IS fantastic. Despite all the layers of bright colors, there's absolutely no doubt as to the focal point. WOW!

Wow, all those bright colors - you certainly hit the tropical look. I like that you left so much room for the photo, though & the little frame is a cute idea. Great photo! I envy you your vacation.
