Daisy Lincoln 1920's

This picture of my mom as a child(front with wings) and 3 of her siblings was taken when she was 4 years old. Their house had a hard packed dirt floor. Her father, Homer Lincoln, was a chicken farmer. He didn't give the girls middle names because he was very proud of the Lincoln name and wanted them to keep it (in place of a middle name) when they got married.

Fabulous! Love the mood you maintained with your color and embellishment choices. What a great photo! I like the tilt to the page- really interesting. Nicely done!

That's an interesting theory of your grandfather's. Did it work? It's a great layout, I like the vintage feel that works so well with this photo.

AggieB, yes that was how it was done I guess, if you wanted your girls to carry on the family name a little longer (since it was assumed girls ALWAYS got married). Mom was the last girl and she was born in 1919. I think her father was born somewhere around 1890 or so. It was a whole different world back then.

It is really special having some of the old family photos. I have a family group shot I'll do soon.
