ThankUcard2Mistens1007
Every year after our Reunion trip, my sweet friends send me a gift card to my favorite clothing store (J Jill) to help compensate for some of the ink I use on the scrapbook pages for the previous years’ Reunion trip. We have such fun and take so many neat photos that it usually ends up being around 30 pages times 5 girls.
Every year, when I send them a Thank You card, I ask them to PLEASE stop doing it—that the memory pages are my gift to them. I’ve decided that I’m just going to have to stop, as they NEVER pay a bit of attention to me! So I’m now graciously accepting the gift card, acknowledging the love and thoughts behind this sweet, yearly gesture (and I do so love picking out something at my favorite store each spring to take on the reunion trip—I call them my Mistendelia clothes!).
PS – For those that don’t already know, we call ourselves the Mistendelia’s, which is a combination of the states we all live in—Mississippi, Tennessee, Delaware, and Iowa. The group is comprised of best friends from my first 2 years of college at Stephens College (a jillion years ago!!!) and my sister.
LO Notes: I want to say a big thank you to Sarah for her WONDERFUL shadow styles. I’ve used her Basic Shadows 6501 for a long time (on every LO I create!), but I recently purchased her Shadow Layer 6501 action and have been having SO much fun with it. For deep, lifted, & in-a-different-direction shadows, I would have to make my own from scratch (not a short process with PSE). What used to take me so long to create now is practically instantaneous. All I have to do is move it/turn it/cut it for the look I want, and the ability to adjust things like opacity makes it even more versatile. On this LO, it allowed me to make the deep shadow to the paper curl so that it continued from the frame to my paper underneath. I couldn’t get it to feather quite as much as the look on the frame, but it sure was a lot better than using a regular shadow. I also used the action for the beads on the right pin, which was turned in a different direction and begged for shadows on a different side.
The other thing I had fun with was using the Adobe Dodge & Burn tools to make the pins look like they were going under the frame. I haven’t worked with them much, but liked the realism they gave the pins.
Used PSE6. As I try to do now, I put the SG supplies down here as well as in EXIF Properties so that they are somewhat 'searchable'.
