Chihuly

I was playing around with Amanda Sok's new Resin styles, and they reminded me of these photos I took of the Chihuly glass at the local Botanical Gardens. I used the Resin styles as the "filling" of my bubble letters, and also as a layer over the white paper circles.

Journaling:

In 2006, the Missouri Botanical Gardens featured a special exhibit - “Glass in the Garden.” This exhibit brought the stunning glass artwork of artist Dale Chihuly to St. Louis. His bright, colorful, topsy-turvy glass sculptures were scattered around the gardens, nestled among the flowers and plants, and floating in the reflecting pools. When the Chihuly exhibit left the Gardens in 2007, three of the sculptures were left behind for future visitors to enjoy. These three pieces are the “Blue Chandelier”, “Sunset Herons”, and the “Walla Wallas.”

Funny how just playing with a new style can inspire and entire layout!! I really like the black background, and the Resin styles are perfect! Love the paper strips with the stitching!
