B&Wchal_myHotPnkShedGeraniums
This LO took me out of my comfort zone. It is not at all like my usual style. But that’s what creativity is all about, right? PS – I’m going to run right back to my comfort zone as soon as I upload this (although I DID like the photo treatment)!
For the challenge to use B&W, I knew I wanted to find a flower or garden photo that I could have a vibrant color peaking out of an otherwise B&W shot. I found this one and thought it’d be perfect. I duplicated it and tried the MRE_PhotoBasics-B&W action; but after then erasing to show the hot pink color of the flower heads, just wasn’t quite pleased with the effect. Maybe the rest of the photo was too busy? Anyway, I went back and tried another copy with the MRE_PhotoBasics-B&WwithColor action. Somehow, just that slight tinge of color in the pots and geranium foliage seemed to make all the difference. So, it’s not a true B&W, but it’s what you get.
The AWI_SS_Papers_Herbal_Dots template made a good true B&W item for the LO. For more black, I also used a KSC_WroughtIron5201 style on the frame I made. And I tried to use black and white text.
This just NEEDED something more!! I had thought of a ribbon before, but felt everything else was too rustic. But I HAD to have something, so I added a ribbon. Better.
Journaling: I always put these in front of my garden shed. They stand out so well in front of the aging wood and I can see them from my deck and house, even coming down my quarter mile driveway!
Used PSE6. As I try to do now, I put the SG supplies down here as well as in EXIF Properties so that they are somewhat 'searchable'.
