October: Those Gylling Girls

Arizona Girl
 Share

Journaling Reads: My grandma Dona Gylling Sowards, & her sisters Dorothy, Lola,& Lena had a bit of a reputation back in the early year of

Mesa, AZ. They lived in Mesa only in the winter, among the 1st snow birds to the area. All the girls were jealous when they came to town

because all the boys were courting these girls. Even today, when I meet someone from that era of Mesa I’m told all about those Gylling Girls!

I tried commenting on this twice already... but I think it will work this time! =) This is a great story, and I can just imagine what those 4 girls were like together. I'd love to hear some of the stories from your grandmother's point of view! nice layout, I like the different patterns put together.

What a wonderful story and you've related it so well in your journaling. Awesome photo and I really like the way you showcased it.
