Autumn at the Daniel Boone Homestead

This park is a 10 minute drive from our home. Makes for a wonderful afternoon of fun and education! And it's so beautiful in the fall. For Lori Cook's Brush Set: Thankful It's Autumn.

The base of the cluster is created with one of the brushes from Lori's set. You may notice from the marketing image that the center of this brush is solid or opaque. Once I stamped the brush on it's own layer on my layout, it was easy to select the center with my magic wand tool and copy the selection to it's own layer. To that, I added some additional "brush strokes" in different colors picked from the layout using a grunge brush. I finished it off with a small stroke and shadow style.

Elisha, this LO is just AWESOME!! I spent a lot of time this morning investigating it when I saw it in the Newsletter, first looking at what products you had used and trying to visualize how you used them to create this masterpiece. I also had to check out some of the products and then make sure that I had them all! Then, when I was taking a look at recent Gallery images, I had to go take another look at it there. For some reason, LO’s always seem to look bigger and better in the Gallery! Plus, you added some info on how you put the darling cluster together. Beautiful job enhancing that photo and blending it into the bkg paper. This goes right into my Favorites. It’s definitely my kind of LO style!!! And a real piece of ART!

Elisha, this just has to be a painting! Really, it's quite a work of art and you did an amazing job with it - lovely picture to begin with, but with all that you did creating this masterpiece it is far more than just a photo! I loved reading about how you did all of the techniques you used - it is just gorgeous and your blending is just amazing. This definitely should be framed and hanging on your wall somewhere - it is just gorgeous!

Elisha, I have been waiting for this LO to show up since Lori's gorgeous brushes appeared in the boutique and jumped into my cart! You really made them shine! Gorgeous page and so artistically done. Even the font is spot on! Lovely photo! Thank you for the explanation on your brush technique, too! BTW, we pass the sign for DB Homestead on every trip from our DDs and I have always wondered about it- must go there after seeing all this beauty!

There's no doubt that Lori's brush set took a leap in sales after this stunning layout was published. But what you did with her brush is truly a work of art. So thank you for the explanation for I doubt that I could ever have duplicated the effect without instructions. I love how you have interpreted a beautiful fall photo into an even more spectacular picture with the background blenders, grunge and actions. This layout should set the "bar" for all of scrappers who admire your outstanding work.
