Journaling reads:

Homer B. Reed was my Great-Grandfather. He died several years before I was born, but I have heard so many stories about him, I feel

like I know him. He was an incredibly intelligent man who used his knowledge to help many people. He taught Psychology classes at Fort

Hays State University and he helped to start a center where disabled adults could learn trades and be treated with love and respect. He also

had quite a sense of humor, and he and his wife would tease each other quite a bit. After a meal one day, when he had spilled quite a bit on his

shirt, he horrified his wife by telling her he thought he would leave the house dressed just as he was. I think he never lost the child in him, because

he was known to shoot the grand piano with the beebee gun to hear the beebees ping off of the strings. You can tell that the people who knew him

enjoyed being around him. I think he must have been quite a man and also quite a character!
