This was our second week in Miami. While I settled into the routine at Bascom-Palmer and studied for upcoming boards (November 30th), Nick continued to look for a job. In the meantime he is awesome in the apartment, walking the dogs, doing laundry, cleaning and helping with dinner. Wednesday night we went out for dinner with some of the other Bascom interns at Burger and Beer Joint in Brickell. It was really good (although a little expensive) and it was nice for Nick to meet some of the other students I work with. Thursday I got lucky and had my afternoon clinic cancelled, so Nick and I decided to go to the beach for the first time. We went to central Miami Beach and had a great time, although the water was a little chilly. Saturday I studied for boards, and we sadly watched the Hawkeyes lose to Northwestern. Then we took the dogs to the park, and I walked Kinnick while Nick supervised Herky at the dog park. On Sunday I studied again and then we got Pollo Tropical (a local fast food chain) for dinner. It was yummy! This week we were excited that our friends Shane & Shaybree Goshon were able to go home with their new baby girl, Savea Dee. She is adorable and I wish we could meet her sooner!
