2010_12_07 SS SGClub Challenge_Mirror Image

Made with PSE7, on a Laptop PC, with Win7

I've wanted a special way to scrap this photo of the first winter that Tok spent with us. He's looking at a dog in our neighbours yard, so I have thought of putting an animal in his line of view but that would detract from him. After seeing so many reflective layouts, I decided that looking into an ice block and seeing his reflection would be perfect. This month's SS SGClub Collection gave me the perfect paper to use.

I duplicated the paper twice. The first duplication was coloured then overlayed, over the original paper to keep the texture. The second duplication was coloured, then I used AMC_SSTools_Styles_Water_6101 on it and lowered the opacity to 50% which gave it an icy look. I put a mirror image of Tok,s photo that I had used the sketch crosshatch filter on, under the ice and erased everything to the right of the break line in the paper, then I softened the edges with a large soft brush on a low opacity setting. For the original photo on the right, I had done an extraction of Tok, which I did a simple emboss on and I fit over top of him in his photo, then I added a big shadow, so it would look like he is out from the ice sheet.

I'm very pleased with the results and had a hoot making this layout. :-)
