Journaling from my trip diary:
The town is interesting to walk through, with busy markets, stalls and shops along tiny, pedestrian-only streets. However, it is jammed with tourists and shoppers, and felt very commercial. Bathrooms are at a premium. I can’t help wondering that they have not yet learned that a tourist with an empty bladder is more likely to shop or eat & drink than a desperate tourist!
I walked into the walled town – it is quite ancient. The Cathedral dominates, yet you can’t get a complete view as the town is built right up to it. (Later that day, a schoolteacher we met on the train said we should go to Lincoln; that cathedral is out in the open.)
Thanks for looking.
