The craft of choice at this time in my life was making photo album covers. I used satins mostly, although I did use other materials and of course, there were lots of ribbons. I loved to make them with windows in the front to hold a photo, which was usually a recent photo of me or of my family. The windows were made with reclaimed clear pastic packaging.

I made this gold, satin album for my mom and inserted a photo of myself that was taken at a banquet for a lingerie company, where I played the role of a manager for a while. I remember how much she loved it and and how I placed the ribbons on it. There were also ribbons attached to the inside of the covers that were used for holding it closed, which mom thought were a great idea. She was also very pleased to receive the photo and never did change it out, although I told her she could if she wanted to.

When mom passed, I inherited the album back, with some lovely family photos in it. It is now one of my favourite keepsakes, because it meant so much to her and she filled it with the love of her family. One of my kids will end up with it and the memories that it holds.

Heatheranne, this is such a lovely memory. I love you album cover. The fonts are really great. I think I must go get the "M" one. This is really a very pretty layout.

Heatheranne that is a great album cover. I am constantly amazed by you guys that digi-scrap, embroider and do all sorts of other craf. Makes me feel like I'm wasting my time! Those alphas are really lovely and the journaling very personal and touching. Fab.

Wow, Heatheranne! So pretty in every way. Love your photo and the album is just beautiful! I made so many of those (from the Fabric Photo Albums book..loved it!) as gifts back in the 80s. Brought back fond memories, and I am happy that you scrapped yours to pass along to the children some day. I really like your outer border- beautifully done!
