This was the week we had been looking forward to for a long time! Cruise week! I had to work Monday - Thursday, and Nick was looking forward to a job interview on Monday
afternoon at KW Properties. The position is in Accounts Receivable in a company that oversees several condo associations and homeowner’s associations. The interview went very well, and now he is just waiting to hear back. Tuesday and Wednesday Nick cleaned while I worked in preparation for my family coming to visit. Wednesday after work, I drove to the Fort Lauderdale airport to pick up my parents. By the time we got to their hotel near the Miami airport, we were all starving. Nick met us at their room and we ordered Papa John’s pizza for dinner. Lezlie’s flight in from Houston landed at the Miami airport around 9 pm, and Nick and Dad picked her up. After talking for awhile, Nick and I headed home to go to bed. Thursday morning I worked, but was lucky enough to get off around noon. Mom, Dad, Lezlie and Nick had just ate breakfast at the hotel, ran some errands, and ate lunch at Pollo Tropical before coming to pick me up. Mom and Dad surprised Nick and I with an early Christmas gift of a new GPS! Then we decided to head to the beach for the afternoon, so we went to Bill Baggs’ State Park at Key Biscayne. We had a great time, but our evening turned a little less fun when we realized someone had slashed the tire on the Trailblazer and stolen some credit cards and Lezlie’s cell phone. After phone calls to AAA, Verizon, and credit card companies, we filed a police report and were ready to put the incident behind us. It could have been so much worse. We enjoyed dinner at an Italian restaurant and then headed to bed. Friday started the cruise! Over the course of the weekend we ate too much, laughed a lot, and got a little sun (it was chilly while we were docked at Cococay in the Bahamas, but warmer in Nassau). Overall, we had an awesome time and all agree that we would love to go on another cruise!
