Mon. 1/31 - Walking with the Penguins

We spent one day walking with the penguins, and I mean that literally. There were boundaries showing us where to walk, but they forgot to tell the penguins, so we had to be careful not to step on them, or even get too close. Apparently they bite when they think you're too close to the babies. One of the photos shows a parent with a baby, so it is easy to see the difference. That one also shows just how close we were to them. We started up some steps and I looked down and there was one peeking out between the steps. I got a couple of good shots of him/her. It was a great day.

I forgot to say; these are Magellanic Penguins.

This looks like so much fun! I love the trio of photos against the blended photo background, and especially the feather you added.

Amazing, Joyce! I love your grouping of photos and the few embells. Your BG photo is phenomenal! And to have a close-up of that little guy/girl peeking out is truly a treasure!

Thanks. These were taken on an island just off Ushuaia, Argentina. According to my notes, these are the largest of the "warm weather" penguins.
