Friday 2/11/11 - Blending Modes

I actually made this as homework for my Blending Modes class (which was awesome BTW I highly recommend it!) I used blending modes to improve the photo along with Photoshop lighting fixes. I don’t remember which blending modes I used on the photo (my bad) but I included the untouched photo to show the improvement. I also blended papers together on the journal paper. The bottom layer (leaf paper) is normal. The next layer up (leaf paper) is luminosity mode. The third layer up (leaf paper) is color dodge mode. The next layer up (journal paper) is multiply mode. I used the rectangular marquee tool to cut the journaling paper borders out of all the leaf paper layers so it looks like only the paper inside the journal has the leaf design. I merged all the leaf paper layers together. At this point, the leaf design was too yellow for me and so I added another green colored paper layer (SNU_Noteworthy_Paper-Leaf) and after cutting out the journal border, I used hue blending mode on it. This made the yellow more neutral and I was satisfied with that look. I added the ink blotches from Brandy Murray’s FTDO collection and used the linear light mode to blend it into the journal paper.

I know, that's alot of information, sorry. The items used are listed in the EXIF properties. TFL
