Homework 2, Color Challenge, and Newsletter Contest

This is so very, very pretty. I love the sweet smile and the lovely soft colors. Only people who have done the class will see this, you will have to post it in the Sat col challenge section as well.

Very cute!! Love the colors - it is sweet & girly like you wanted I like the resin styles on the border and the title, and the glitter trail behind the photo. Great torn paper behind the photo - a good way to help frame the photo and add more patterned paper to the layout. Great job!

My only suggestion (and someone can correct me if they disagree), would be to move the embellishments at the top-right and bottom-left corners, and swap them to the same sides as the glitter trail. Having some sort of accent at all 4 corners of the photo seems a little "boxed-in" and breaks up the flow of the layout. But maybe that's just me?

I have a couple of suggestions. During class tonight, we'll talk about the rule of thirds (different than the rule of three, lol). Images are more dramatic when they aren't dead center - they pull more attention when they are off center. Personally, I would place the photo so that her eyes/face intersect one of the "sweet spots" on the page (basically, if you divide the page like a tic-tac-toe grid, where the lines cross are the sweet spots) because that would make it more dramatic.

 

The other thing I would do is to move the first part of the title down to the bottom of the picture, reducing it so that it fits across the bottom of the picture (with a little margin on either side). That would connect it to the rest of the title, and to the rest of the layout.
