I may have inherited my fascination with weaving, although I didn't practice it for long. My great-great grandfather was a weaver. Some of his work, including the coverlet that was my father's and is now in my home, are shown here. John's coverlets were Jacquard; my smaller efforts are simpler overshot patterns. But the colors he used - madder red and indigo - inspired the mini-coverlet I wove. I made the placemats for Mother to complement the coverlet when it hung in her dining room.
