I really like this collection so much and enjoyed using it a second time. What took the longest was deciding whether the title should have "were" or "was" (as in, If I Were a Rich Man or If I Were the King of the Forest.) After looking at them for hours, neither looked right, but according to what I read, both are. I almost changed the title.

 

The LO is a series of happy accidents, starting with using the included template for the edging, duplicating and turning it and finding that it looked like a pretty envelope. That was the start of the layout. Thanks so much for the beautiful and generous freebie, Scrap Girls!

 

Journaling: Each day of our Hawaiian vacation we walked around the village to see the beautiful pink flamingos, the cranes and the funny ducks. They were all very accustomed to people, and to being photographed. I miss seeing them in the morning. May 2011

What a beautiful page! The photos are gorgeous as is that pretty pretty collection. I like the effect of the envelope & how you put the post card over it - very clever. The title is just too funny.

I got a good chuckle out of your description of choosing the title! My 2 cents worth (which you can have for free)is, Since we say "Wish you were here", I think you made the right choice, and it's a hoot. :)

I love the texture you added to this! I also like your bird embellishments. Great photos, and blending, too. Lovely page!

What a gorgeous layout, Dot. So many beautiful pieces -- I love how you made your wonderful background --really lovely.

I also really like your great photos, title (your final choice sounds right to me) and the embellishments you used to create such a pretty page!

I'll bet those flamingos miss YOU, too. :)

This is SO pretty and meaningful. You certainly are right--the way you did the paper looks exactly like an envelope, and a VERY pretty one at that! It seems to give the whole LO a pinkish cast.

Dot, this is beautiful. Flamingos are such gorgeous birds and I see a lot of them at the Bronx Zoo. Love the background and elements that you used. Love the Narrative collection. The 'envelope' looks embossed and is beautiful. Great job, Dot.

oooh I love the thin line inside your photos! I also like the journaling on the post card. Very pretty colors for those pics, which are beautiful too!
