May Blooms : What's Blooming in My Yard?

This has been an unusual Spring in NJ with lower temperatures and rain, rain, RAIN; making blooming much later than usual and harder to photograph. For a while I thought I'd have nothing to show, but finally decided to carry my camera around each day and chronicle any current growth..

Journaling:

Box 1

2011 May blossoms in NJ evolved slowly and much later than usual. Rainfall for the month was higher and temperatures much lower than normal. Flowers that traditionally blossomed early in the month waited until the end to show their beauty.

Box 2

I faithfully carried my camera with me each day hoping to catch Spring unfolding. It started with tiny buds, pussy willow and dandelions, then seemed to stand still while cold weather and rain deluged us. Finally, towards the end of the month trees and flowers started to blossom with rosebuds finally opening in full bloom on the last few days of May!

For this layout I used:

ACA SS Digital Layout Templates: Year in Review

DCA Zip Kit: Rainbow Bright

Refresh Collection Biggie

SNU SS Alpha Lifted Photo

and a month of my own photos! :)

Beautiful layout. I love the way you used the grid, letting some photos cover several squares. I want to try that. I also like the way the center flower pops out of the frame. Nice work!

This is amazing! You've chronicled your spring in a beautiful and delightful way. I especially like how you've let some of the photos overflow into neighboring boxes. The center flower drew my eye right away, too. Love it!! Aren't the early spring flowers wonderful to see?
