I really enjoyed the chat and challenge, Shannon! Thank you! And thank you, also, to Jen and Elisha for the beautiful new collections! You are both so talented!

I was pretty happy to see how well the background papers matched the clothing John and I are wearing in this 1954 Olan Mills photo. (The stripes in John's shirt match the bg blue paper...I still remember that shirt!) I didn't do anything to the photo...it has some spotty red areas but I wanted to keep it original. Also, I used my new Flip Pal Scanner to scan the photo through the plastic stuck to it in the old album. It worked great! Four scans (and I don't think I kept them perfectly aligned) on this 8X10 picture under plastic and the built in software automatically "stitched" the sections together. This opens up a lot of possibilities for me! Thanks, Scrap Girls!

Journaling: for all of the years we lived at home we were always referred to as Dottie and John, almost as one word. We were born only 14 months apart and were always together.

Dot, it is BEAUTIFUL! The paper does match your dress! And gosh, the photo looks awesome! I did stitch one of mine but haven't used it yet in a layout - was just stitching to play - wondering what size photo you scanned and stitched? I love the collections you used - made just for this picture, I think! Great job - beautiful layout - Another Dot creation!

Goodness that is a very good piece of scan work Dot. We don't have the flip pal over here. I do hope that we get it sometime in the future!! As Sara has said another lovely Dot creation!!

That is just the sweetest photo! It turned out great (I'm gonna have to get one of those little scanners for myself). I really love the soft greens and browns you used. It compliments the photo so well. Jen's leafy background paper is perfect! And the title looks great with the stitched twill tabs! Thanks for using Homebody, Dot! Hugs!

What a wonderful layout Dot. I love how great your photo scan turned out and how you tucked it in the photo corners - just as old albums did!

I also really like your title and journaling. Very touching and beautiful page.
