Left side of two page layout, my first two pager. Again, thanks for the great challenge and thanks so much to Brandy for her great inspiration with Smith Family Cruise.

PS: the color combination came from using Kuler.

Journaling on the right page:
My cousin Carol was married in December, 1961. Because her brother Joey and I were born only three days apart and he was to serve as a Junior Groomsman, I was asked if I would like to walk with him as a Junior Bridesmaid member of the wedding party. We shopped for dresses in Philadelphia, and red was chosen as the color since the event was close to Christmas. Carol chose taffeta fabric, which I loved. It was shiny and crinkled when I walked. I wore a puffy petticoat beneath the dress to make the skirt stand out. My favorite part of the outfit was the white fur muff each bridesmaid carried. It was covered with red baby roses and a long, white satin ribbon. Finally, a white fur headpiece with a short white veil completed the look. Each bridesmaid had her hair done in a french twist. I didnít really like that hairdo, but the bride was in charge. Joey wore a black tuxedo and looked very handsome. I remember that we had a lot of fun at the lovely wedding. The fabrics and colors and textures of that day were so appealing to me, and sparked a lifelong interest and love of sewing. I had always like words I found in books, such as taffeta, damask, dimity, crinoline and chiffon, but Carol's wedding was my first hands-on experience with them, and was a memory I never forgot.

Dot I  how it turned out and that pretty turquoise sure does make it stand out beautifully. I would have never thought to do that, so thanks for sharing your creativity.
Oh I just love this! What a beautiful Lo, and the journaling is just great! That red dress, the muff, and the hat ... I'd have been in heaven to wear all that!
Wow, this is really gorgeous, Dot and so were you! Love your photo blended into the beautiful background and how your accents/word art is in gold.
    Really so wonderful!
I love your background blending and that little red charm at the top. Another great page! PS -- You looked very festive!
I just love your journaling. What a lovely memory. Great blending and the pair of you looked so smart.
Dot, I love this. How lovely you looked in your red dress. I loved reading about your experience and how it affected you. My oldest daughter married in December. My Mom and I made red velvet bridesmaid dresses and white velvet muffs for them to carry. And my daughter's bridal gown was white velvet.
What a terrific memory! And you've 'done it proud' in your LO! I SO enjoyed reading all your thoughts on that day and what it meant to you.
Wonderful scrapping. The photo is so lovely on your background and I love your description of the event. One of my fondest memories is of a fur muff I carried at a "grown up" event. A really lovely page.
