Happy Flag Day

I wanted to do a page in honor of our American Flag. Everyone always does layouts to celebrate July Fourth, but we seem to forget Flag Day. When I was in elementary school, every Flag Day the school held a celebration in honor of our Flag. Each grade would perform a special number, either marching or dancing in the school yard. And of course we always sang 'You're A Grand Old Flag' It was always a fun day and everyone loved it and had a great time. We would make crepe paper outfits that we would wear over our regular clothes. Unfortunately, my parents didn't take any pictures of us, or I just can't find them. I took the photo in Rockport, MA in 2009 while I was there for a long weekend with some friends. I liked the way the flags looked stretched out before me.

Fabulous! The background is wonderful and with the photo of the flags and the lyrics on the page, well, it just makes me want to get up and salute and sing!
