Life Moments 6/21 - Road Trip!

Journaling:

Growing up, my family always drove to our vacation destinations, rather than traveling by airplane. Our first major road trip vacation was in 1995, when we drove from St. Louis, Missouri, to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. On this route, we passed through the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. John and I would make the appropriate “oohs” and “aahhs” from the backseat, often without glancing up from our books and Game Boys. However, at mom's insistence, we had to pile out of the car and take a photo whenever she found a stop-off point that interested her. We made lots and lots and LOTS of photo stops - mountain background photo stops, river creek photo stops, and an “educational” stop at Cades Cove, where we explored some old homestead houses, barns, churches, and watermills from the mid 1800s. Dozens of photo stops before we had even reached our final destination! And as you can see, by the end of the day, even an eager tourist such as myself was starting to get tired of the camera!!

I love this page and the story you tell with both your photos and journaling. I really like the car riding on the stitching and especially how you arranged all the wonderful photos on top of the blended background.

Great layout!

CUTE!! I like the combination of small photos and the way you framed them! I like the circle stitching to accent the lower right photo. FABULOUS background!

Wonderful memories captured in those old photos, Tiza and I like the way you've arranged them on your page - fun journaling to read - I can remember those same car trips and saying, "oh, no, not another picture" - but now I'm glad I have them! Nice layout.
