Re-JUNE-venate 2011 - Task #8

Sweet Honey

My dad is my hero, he raised me without a mother, from the age of 1 year old. I had my sister, 2, and my brother to share in this bittersweet life event. My dad did what most men in the 60s weren't doing...keeping the kids after a divorce.

He struggled, most definitely, just to provide for us, and it has, as never been forgotten by us. We lost him on April 4, 2007 and it still seems like yesterday.

I was glad to memorialize him in one of my first scrapbooking layouts!

It's a wonderful and touching LO! Hard to believe it is one of your first. What a lovely tribute to an amazing man! This LO is beautiful in every way and I love that you have journaled about him. I'm sorry for your loss. One never seems to get over losing a parent, but sweet memories make it easier.

Just beautiful! Your journaling and the whole page is a lovely tribute. I especially like your embellishment touches: the dog tags, the hat, and the journal strip stapled to the background. I'm glad you and your brother and sister had such a loving father, and am so sorry for your loss.

This is so beautiful. I also lived with my father from the age of 13. It was the best years of my childhood. I love your journaling and the layout is wonderful. Good job.

Wow, I'm getting a little choked up; thank you so much everyone for your comments. It was a tough week. I was determined to get caught up in the challenge and I finally did (it took me three days to do it though!!!

Garden Girl, thank you for the suggestion...I did just that knowing that it couldn't hurt. I did have to go back and add my supplies in for that one - I didn't know about a supply list when I posted these, but I've read up and learned that it's required to do that.

Have a great weekend all of you!! :-)
