I'm going to admit it... this is one of my favorite layouts I've ever done. There's nothing particularly fancy or fabulous about it but it totally makes me smile. Isn't it great to have those kind of layouts every now and then? Just totally smile-worthy ones? Hehehe. I can't believe how much my little Molly girl has grown up!!!

Ohhhhh.. This made ME smile, too and that adorable little face caught my eye on the message board!

I love how cheery and bright your collection is and it goes so perfect with your adorable photos. I also really like her blue eyes in the black and white photo -- so sweet.

What a happy layout!

Totally, Ang! I LOVE those polka dots! What a great collection to bring so many smiles from so many people!

Now, tell me - how did you keep her blue eyes in the black and white photo? I've been trying to do that and not sure I know how?

I saw this in this morning's newsletter, and it made me smile! You're right--it is one of those layouts that perfectly captures a mood. Your Happiness is contagious, like pixie-dust in a bottle!

I think the easiest way to keep color in a part of a photo is just to duplicate the original, then change the duplicate layer to B&W (Shift+Ctrl+Alt+B in PS), then make sure you're working with your image at 100% resolution so you can really get close to the details and use a soft edge small-ish round brush and erase the part of the B&W layer where you want to have color come through. Easy peasy way to pop some localized color but have a B&W pic :) (I also reduced the opacity on the B&W layer just a tad so it's not fully grayscale. Can you see there's just a hint of blue in her shirt and pink in her cheeks? That's just from lowering the opacity a wee bit :) )

HTH!! It's a fun technique to use occasionally!!

Thanks for all the love ladies!! Glad to see you smiling!

THANK YOU, Ang, for taking the time to explain your technique! I will give this a try tonight - I have a gorgeous pic of my little granddaughter, Lucy and I've been dying to do that ever since I saw your layout - thanks so much!
