So adorable Ang! Love the b&w photos against the bright colors. Very cute LO!

Ohhhhh.. This made ME smile, too and that adorable little face caught my eye on the message board!

I love how cheery and bright your collection is and it goes so perfect with your adorable photos. I also really like her blue eyes in the black and white photo -- so sweet.

Now, tell me - how did you keep her blue eyes in the black and white photo? I've been trying to do that and not sure I know how?

 

I think the easiest way to keep color in a part of a photo is just to duplicate the original, then change the duplicate layer to B&W (Shift+Ctrl+Alt+B in PS), then make sure you're working with your image at 100% resolution so you can really get close to the details and use a soft edge small-ish round brush and erase the part of the B&W layer where you want to have color come through. Easy peasy way to pop some localized color but have a B&W pic (I also reduced the opacity on the B&W layer just a tad so it's not fully grayscale. Can you see there's just a hint of blue in her shirt and pink in her cheeks? That's just from lowering the opacity a wee bit )
