I am a "townie" but love all things to do with the countryside. Agricultural shows are the highlight of the rural life here in the UK and I love to visit one when I can. These photos were taken this past weekend at the local Tendring Show. These heavy horses have been judged and their owners are awaiting the judge's decision.

Journaling

One of my greatest pleasures in the year is to visit an agricultural show, either here at home or wherever I am on holiday. The heavy horses are one of the attractions that I would not miss. They are so beautiful. So much time and effort has been spent in turning them out with their manes plaited and adorned. The owners are proud of their animals and it means so much to them to receive a rosette.
