Brushes Homework: Week 4 - "Some Part of Me"

My niece Ali and I have always been close. She took this photo of us with her cell phone at the NJ shore a few weeks ago and started college a week later. It's so hard to believe so much time has passed - the smaller photo is us at the ocean in NC when she was 4!

 

I used the larger photo to make my brush - first used Brandy Murray's "Sketch-It" Action to turn it into a sketch and then turned it into a brush. I stamped it onto the background using a brownish color and added the flower embellishment to Ali's hair afterwards.

I also used a brush I made out of my signature to sign the page and another to clip the smaller photo into a starburst.

 

For this layout I used:

BMU Seascape

ABR SS Word Title It Beach

BMU Brush Set: Sunburst

MRE Brush Set: Misty

BMU SS Actions: Sketch It

Marilyn, this is awesome. Wow, I love it. This one would get my vote for the newsletter. Don't tell a soul though. I love the blended beach background. How clever to turn the photo into a sketch first. I made a brush using a photo of me, but did not like it. I think I must try this method.
