The Old Barn

I love old barns; the stories I imagine they can tell of days gone by is part of the appeal. I used part of Sam Jackson's "Old Barns and Men" poem for that very reason.

I took the photo in Branson, Missouri this year; when I go back next year the barn won't be there because the land is being developed.

I used papers and elements from the October Club Kit, Inspiring, by Cherise Oleson. I used various textures, including textures from Shadowhouse Creations, and Photoshop techniques on the photo.

The font is Batik Regular.

That is a very neat barn photo, and I like the various effects/textures you used on it. The colors of Cherise's collection work nicely with the photo as well.

This is a fabulous photo! I love the way this layout came together - love the little faded flowers in the bottom corner - great accent for this.

Love this! I got to live and work in Branson and other Ozark communities for a year and some of the old buildings were fabulous. I found on old church in about the same condition as this barn one time. You've done it so well with the desaturated color and the font for the journaling is perfect!

Absolutely wonderful! I'm so glad that you captured this great old barn so that it could live on forever. I, too, love barns--old ones, new ones, big ones, small ones, strange ones, grand ones--any and all!

I love the way you rendered this. The LO is just so 'in keeping' with the barn and the quote.

What a fabulous layout! I'm a big fan of old barns, and this one certainly does (did) have a lot of character....so glad you got the shot. And the journaling could not be more fitting.

Just love this layout! I am forever taking pictures of old barns, not quite knowing what to do with them all. I'd say you did a good job of figuring it out!
