Semper Fi - Steven

Our son in his first official USMC portrait, March 2007. Taken during basic training, I was rather horrified by how young and scared I thought he looked. Quite different from the kid who slept all day and played video games all night. :)

Many thanks to Jen Reed for this kit, and for the inspiration for this LO.

Wonderful layout Becky! I love love love how the background mimics your son's uniform and your journaling is extraordinary. DH served in the Marines and I immediately recognized the last sentence: There is no such thing as an ex-Marine.

Thank you! But all the credit goes to Jen Reed. The "journaling" is actually a word art embellishment! I just had to have this kit as soon as I saw it. :)

Oh, Becky - I know that feeling well! My son's first Army pic looked the same way - so young, so scared, so different than the kid I had just sent away a few weeks before! I had no words at that moment when I first saw him. Your layout is beautifully done - very professional looking and very, very Marine! Semper Fi!
