NY - Richfield Springs

The upper photo is a working spring - you could hear the springs making these rumbling noises & actually see the water bubbling and moving like a tide. Really awesome. There are a number of them in Richfield Springs in little pavillions. Althouth the heyday is past, I saw several people with water jugs coming to collect the water. The spring, coincidentally, is just about the perfect size to insert a plastic jug.

I took the green from the 2nd house from the left & put Brandy's tiled paper over it with Grain Extract - you get such amazing colors with that filter. I thought the tile was especially appropriate because of the public baths that used to be here.

The frame came from using several strokes (green, dark green, white) around the photo, then beveling it.

Wow, Aggie - how interesting, I had no idea that there were sulphur springs so close-by in NY! Your journaling and explanations are so interesting and your photos are beautiful.

I love actually seeing a Spring and your frame turned out great! I also really love the gorgeous tile you used as a background. Great ATC!

I never realized why there are so many NY towns with "Springs" in their name! Duh. Thank you for including a photo of one of them and for the information. Love those houses! The tile background was a great idea and it looks wonderful. I love the colors. I also love the way you framed the photo with strokes. I've done plain strokes but never the different colors and never thought about using a bevel. Very clever -- and it looks terrific! Super ATC!

This is so pretty. Those house are just beautiful. I love the background you used. I never used filters before, I'll have to play with them. Great history behind the Springs. It's amazing what you can find out about your town. I would love to own one of those houses. I love the third from the left with the wrap around porch.
