Lois (7th Anniversary Use Your Stash & HNC)

I started this layout for the Use Your Stash challenge (use ZipKit, Nano, or JIF 6) using both of the JIF 6s from Cherise's October Club kit..... Okay, so I ended up using more items than just one JIF 6 ;)

When I saw today's High Noon Challenge (7 or more sentences of meaningful journaling), I decided to add that to my page as well.

The photo is of me and my dear friend, Lois

Journaling:

I met Lois in the Fall of 2002. We were pledge class sisters together in the Society of the Prim Roses at Truman State University. She had an infectious personality and could light up a room with her smile. In the Spring of 2011, she suffered unexpected health complications during her pregnancy, and had to deliver her daughter seventeen weeks premature. While Melody fought for her life in the NICU, Lois received daily dialysis treatments for her failed kidneys. But she never lost faith or hope. On October 3rd, Melody was released from the hospital and went home for the first time. Sadly,

Lois was called home to her Heavenly Father on October 15th. But her legacy, strength, and drive for life will live on forever through her daughter, Melody, her husband, Kaleb, and all of her family, friends and Prim Rose Sisters. Theta class love, forever, my sister.

Such a sad, but beautifully sweet layout, Theresa. Wonderfully special photo and journaling and I really like the soft colors you used.

Lovely tribute to your dear friend.

What a beautiful tribute to Lois and your friendship with her. I'm so sorry for your loss, but glad that you met and knew her, and that through friends like you, Melody will be able to know her mom through these stories.
