TARANTULA!!

We were hiking this past weekend in an Ozarks wildlife area, but the biggest wildlife we saw was this tarantula resting on an old well. It was quite obliging during the "photo session," but probably only because he was slowing down with the cooler weather. When our children were small, I impressed them by allowing a tarantula to climb up my arm. That was a "tame" spider in a nature center, though, and I wasn't taking any chances with this "wild" specimen. But as you can see . . . my husband thought nothing of the possibility of a tarantula jumping on his face. Now THAT would have been a fantastic photo!!

Wow, that's a great closeup! Wonderful for Halloween, too. I like the bit of that season in your colors and embellishments.

I was drawn to this with a kind of love-hate (well, maybe not that strong) reaction. Really great close-up shots. Love the pops of purple and lime.

Aesome photos. I would have still been running. I hate creepy crawlies. You made a wonderful layout with your photos.

I remember running across tarantulas (and scorpions!) as a child in Oklahoma. We were fascinated - so creepy cool! I really like your arrangement of photos, simply matted on paper squares. The web is the perfect touch!

What fun - and not a bit scary. I've never encountered a tarantula in the wild. I'm pretty sure we're too far north. But they're such lovely, fuzzy critters. Great layout!

I am sure this is a great page but I can't look that close cos the hairy legs is creeping me out!!! Your husband is very obliging, if not a little crazy *wink*, glad we don't get them here!
