That's quite a story to remember, Dot. And the suburban doesn't look nearly as scary, or rusty, as its background. Cool layout!

You did bring back memories. I learned to drive, and park, in a late 50's Ford station wagon - automatic, but no power anything. Crank down windows, hand-out-the-window turn signals, no seat belts at all. And every summer while I was in college, Daddy bought a clunker for $100 from the school automotive repair program. That was my transportation to work for the season. One year, the chosen chariot had a muffler that kept falling off. I would have loved the Suburban! :D

HAHAHA! Hand out the window turn signals- they were the best (not!) Chosen chariots- hope you have an old picture of one! Hilarious!

What a delightful tale!!!! I just loved reading your story. My father always took the whole family, but . . . we always came home with what HE picked out! I will have to say, he really was a good 'picker'.

I never had a truck until I got my own in my late 20's--a darling short-bed, 4wd, silver Chevy. Loved it and drove it for 10 years, then went back to a sports car with a Mazda RX7. LOL--the two sides of my personaltiy always seemed to show in my cars. I've alternated between sports cars and trucks/SUV's my entire life.

Loved that wonderful old metal background paper and the way you embossed Ro's truck emb. Also that fantastic addition of the little upset angel girl! TOO perfect!

Great layout and great journaling. Good on you getting your licence with that vehicle. I still can't parallel park although I have been driving for nearly 45 years.
