Better late than never. :) I'm thinking the photo was taken around 1850. Thanks for looking!

Saloma Root is my third great grandmother. She was born in Victor, New York on 27 May 1814. She married Daniel Needham Blood in 1838 and they moved to Illinois where they raised their family. One of my favorite things about this photo is the lavaliere she is wearing in it. It has been passed down through the generations and is currently in my jewelry box. I have photos of my great grandmother, my grandmother and my mother wearing it. It is a tangible link to my heritage.

Amazing! I love that you have such old photos, they really were pretty scarce that far back! And how neat that you have the lavaliere. You didn't say you yet have a photo of you or your daughters wearing it...:)
