Task #19 - Chanticleer

Well, duh. Forgot the journaling. It says:

You’re a punk. You’re obnoxious, aggressive, and vain. Yes, you’re vain. You sing boastful, off-key songs about yourself all day. The Henriettas don’t respect you. They stand in the corner and laugh while you run shrieking madly around the yard for no apparent reason. You’ve flogged us more times than we can count, leaving us bruised and bleeding. We always threaten to cook you in the next gumbo, but haven’t... yet.

I'm so glad that you added the journaling since I could not read it on the LO . . . it brought a huge smile to my face! I love your sense of humor and how you pulled the theme together in this delightful layout. Have you considered making SHRIMP gumbo???? This fellow is just too magnificent to end up in a cooking pot!

What journaling! - so glad you helped us read it it was so worthwhile. I have a friend who keeps chickens and contrary to my expectations she assures me that each one has its own personalitiy and foibles. Your LO certainly confirms this. Looking at it again I've just noticed the tiny casserole dish - nice touch!

I have been looking for your layout to see how you used the potholder. This is wonderfully done. Putting it in the frame is a great idea and oh, your recipe card and journaling is so fun. He surely has no clue of the fine line he is strutting!

Therese you crack me up girl! I managed to squint and read the journalling then found it underneath... hilarious! I loved your toile when I first saw it and the creative way you have used it is just so smart! Love the double entendre of the cooking pot - both for the pot holder and Mon Chanticleer if he doesn't lift his game!! The recipe card was a great touch too - so cheeky! I like the white wash (not having seen the original though!) as it really makes the grand old chap jump off the page... I like your little embellishment of the rooster too - it looks like a dead ringer for him... no pun intended! Great page!
