Great Grandmas Tea Cup

My grand daughter Lily and I had a tea party this week. I decided to bring one of my treasures to share with her

Journaling reads:

Your great grandma Virginia use to collect tea cups She was my Mom and your Dad’s Grandma. She had lots of tea cups. People would give them to her for presents and she would collect them from different places when she traveled They were very decorative ... and so pretty. When I grew up, got married to Grandpa, and moved into my own house I was invited to a tea party. I was suppose to bring my own tea cup. All I could find to bring was a cup from my china set. It was pretty plain not really colorful like Grandma’s cups. When I told my Mom about the tea party and the cup I took she was astonished that I didn’t have a proper tea cup. She had me look at her collection and select one of the cups to be mine. She told me if I was ever invited to a tea party again that I should bring this cup.

So today I brought great grandma Virginia’s cup to use at our tea party.

Oh, what a sweet story! How wonderful to have an heirloom like this that you can use & remember the giver (& it's so pretty, and so unusual). Great design - I like the large lacy mat for your journaling & the way you've arranged the photos around it.

I have to say this brought a tear to my eye too. What a beautiful story. I have a tea cup that I should scrap or at least write something about in my " MY Life" book. What a lovely tradition. Kay

I love the story of your mother's tea cup! This will be very precious to your granddaughter one day. My mother also collects tea cups and demitasse, which I should probably scrap about. This is such a sweet and inspiring layout!
