I can't critique this, but will tell you I love the colors! Sweet photo, and I like the idea of the hearts down the side of the frame. One suggestion I have is to wander around the various galleries and look at other people's layouts. You'll notice that some are very simple and others look quite professional. You can also get some great inspirations just by looking. I think this one is marvelous for your first "official" layout. Good for you!

I forgot to mention that there are a couple of free books that I found very helpful when I started making layouts. You might want to check them out. They are on the first page of the boutique.

Thanks so much for the input. I do look at the gallery lol I guess that is what originally got me inspired to make a real layout. I love the colors of the pages too as it is a inspiration from a friend of mine (I am making my first full size kit in her honor) I will definably check into the books in the boutique so thanks for the heads up on that.

I think I really need to do some journaling as in the above picture I wanted to say more..but didn't. Josephine is my darling sister in law and Bob is my brother. I love them both to pieces and want to say more with my photos..I want to convey what I feel but just don't know how to do it yet. If ya noticed..lmbo again..I am bit of a talker to put it mildy..lol.so I don't want to over do anything..lol

The colors are nice - teal is actually one of my favorites. If you want to make some room for journaling you could reduce the size of the title a bit, scoot the -n- over, & rotate Bob horizontally & put it next to the -n-. That would give you a nice space to do a narrow column of journaling beneath the title. Pick a simple font because if you have much to say it will need to be smallish & you want it to remain easy to read.

Hope that helps & nice work on your first official LO!

Love the colours you used and the hearts are wonderful. If i was going to change this in any way it would possibly be the journaling and the title. I personally think the title is a little large and overshadows the lovely photo and your great embellishments. I still think you have done a fabulous job here but like has been said have a browse through the gallery and pick some title styles you like and put your style in it :)

I agree about the title and journalling, you need a smallish font and the title needs to be smaller to allow for the journalling... write from your heart too! Explain who the people are and where the photo was taken, or why you are scrapping this memory and what it is or recount when they first met or something else that ties it all together... Finally, try the photo in black and white - I like the teal but she is wearing pink whilst the photo has a greenish tinge and it confuses me... I do like your kit tho and I love all the little flower embellishments... Working in a narrow colour palette is easier I find... Look forward to seeing what you end up posting!! :-)

I love what you have done. I'm no expert but a tip that I got from April (April Showers) one of our Layout Designers, she said I must journal as though I'm telling a friend what is happening in the photos. I have found that very helpful with journaling. Everybody gave you great tips. Looking forward to seeing more of your layouts.

This is great ladies. Such useful info here. I will redo this layout so I can try the suggestions you have..which are AWESOME. I especially like the black and white idea on photos or maybe even a color overlay because like in the above I didn't have a lot to chose from. I ask my sil if I could have that photo it was on her Facebook page..lol Since I don't live close to any family I usually take photos off fb lol. (they love me so it is ok..lol) Since I joined here I have a head full of idea's for doing some digital and hybrid scrapping, it has me in a excited mood so if seem a little over zealous to you y'all that is why..lol Thank you all for your help here ..hugs Anne
