Monday 3-12-12 Challenge -- Grandma's House

These photos are of my Grandparent's house, my Grandmother, my sister Donna aged six, Carol (me) aged three, and my cousin Ginny aged four. These were taken the Summer of 1949 in my Grandparent's backyard. My Grandmother and Grandfather both raised flowers, vegetables, tomatoes, and fruit trees. There was a large cherry tree in the front yard, but in the photo you can't see it. It hadn't grown very much when this picture was taken, sometime in the 30's.

What wonderful pictures. Your paper and embellishments (gotta love those butterflies) work so well with the heritage look of the photos. How great to have these pictures.

How wonderful that you have these photos and that they are now digitized. I love the pretty background paper and embellishments you've used. Pretty butterflies, too. :) This reminds me of my grandparents' house, too. Isn't it interesting how people used to grow so much in tiny city back (and front) yards?

Ah, a little different subject today. Aren’t these wonderful memories—such gentler times. Your pastel coloring reminds me of the colors I bet some of those dresses were.
