Pasta Fagioli

I found this recipe of my Grandma's in my Mom's notebook and rechecked with my sister as many of the instructions weren't in "cookbook language" and sounded as if they were spoken! Here in the East, it's easy to find all kinds of small pasta variations, but any (including elbows) can be used. I love this meal, but my Mom talked about herself being a little girl and crying when it was served for dinner!

From Wikipedia:

Pasta e fagioli or pasta fagioli, meaning "pasta and beans", is a traditional meatless Italian dish. Like many other Italian favorites including pizza and polenta, the dish started as a peasant dish, due to being composed of inexpensive ingredients. Today it can be widely found, even in restaurants that do not specialize in Italian cuisine. It is often pronounced "pasta fazool" in the United States.

For this layout I used:

COL SS DLO: Round Up

MST Cooking Collection Super Mini

KVE SS Styles: Starburst White

MAD Gather Embellishments (retired)

CKA ATAE: Food Embellishments Biggie (retired)

Love that paper! The photos work really well and I like your little embellishments - the salt and pepper are cute! Sounds yum, when we get to winter I am going to make this!

Marilyn I love the story behind your card, including crying when it was served. What a beautiful recipe card AND I'm definitely trying out this recipe!

One of my favorite dishes! I love the photo as well as the adorable chef's hat with your name on it. Great background paper, too -- perfect for an Italian dish. I'm glad you have the recipe written down.
