Monday 4/9 Challenge: Part of My Weekend: "Matzah Cover"

I spent Friday and Saturday nights of this weekend at my dear friends' Seder. Since I am invited each year, I made this matzah cover to bring as a gift in 2004. The five children helped me understand the ten plagues portion of the Exodus story and we all decided on fabrics for each of them. I then hand sewed each square onto a background and quilted my own fabric "matzah" in the center along with other parts of the story. The children wrote the plagues' names in Hebrew on drops of "wine" sewn on the front and we all signed our names on the back. Since then our matzah cover holds a place of honor at the head table each year during Seder.

For this layout I used:

JCO Seder Night Mini

and my own photos

Beautiful! I love your matzah cover, your interesting journaling, and the way you've arranged all the square shapes on the page. I like that you showed us the back of the matzah cover, too. It's such a thoughtful gift and I'm sure they love it!

You made that cover? You scrap and you quilt!?! Wonder woman! I love how you included all the references to the plagues on your cover and how ever did you find those fabrics? I really love all the scripture you included and how you had the kids help you, it really makes the most special, personal WONDERFUL gift to give... you are amazing! Oh and I like how you included Jo's little frog that confused me in the thread, thanks for explaining!
