There was just too much to say about this lovely place! I visit about once a year and love it.

Journaling

The Peak District in the heart of England, ticks all my boxes!

It was Britain's first National Park, and being near the large industrial cities of Sheffield, Manchester and Liverpool, it has always been a playground for workers wishing to escape the grime and soot of factories and mills. Today it is a haven for walkers, climbers and cyclists. For the less energetic (like me) it has some of the most stunning stately homes, the most picturesque small villages and the most interesting traditions that can be found anywhere in England.

Stately Homes: Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall (backdrop to many Hollywood movies).

Historic Sites: Eyam the village that cut itself off to avoid contaminating others when the plague struck during the 17th Century. Cromford, site of the very first manufactory - a World Heritage site.

Customs and Traditions: Well Dressing takes place every year certain villages. Large pictures, made entirely of petals are created by the people of the village. These then decorate the wells. the local priest will process through the village to bless each well in turn.

The peak district is only 30 miles from my home and I've never been. I love this two page spread showing off the beauty and history we have here in England. Fantastic layouts.

Oh Hilary... one of the most beautiful spots in the world! Lucky you! And Valerie, GO!!! I really love your journalling, it gives a real personal warmth to the picture but I also like what you DID to the picture... that meandering stone wall next to the road and the blended palm fronds over the brushy countryside gives a real lush green feel which works so well... gorgeous page!!!

Wonderful two-pager. I LOVE them both. My first choice in a place to visit. I laughed when you said this area "ticked all my boxes." It pushes my buttons - the good ones. Beautiful pages showing stunning places in the district. Well done!

Very interesting journaling. It must be wonderful to see all this. Love the red heart and the background paper.

This is stunning! I love your treatment of the photo, as well as the one punch of red "at the end of the road." That alpha is perfect for your title, and the journaling is fascinating. It sounds like a "bucket list" kind of place. :)

This looks like such an interesting place, and you've described it so well. Your blending is well done, and I *heart* your little stitched heart. Very pretty!
